Can something as small as a microbrush play a big role in the effectiveness of a lash artist's work? Of course! In the work of a lash artist, every wasted minute counts, as does every prematurely released false lash. Microbrushes will do you a good service and I will advise you when to reach for them and how to use them. Read on!
Brush here, brush there - brush where?
I'll say it again and again - if you want your false lashes to stick, you need to make sure you prepare the natural lashes thoroughly in the first place. While the application of false eyelashes usually gets faster with years of experience, the opposite is true for lash preparation.
In fact, if you rush preparation, you can count on shortening the life of your client's new lashes by days. So let's review the basics. This is where micro eyelash brushes come into action!
What is the preparation of natural eyelashes before their extension?
1. Regular clients usually learn over time that it is best to come to your salon without makeup. However, if this is not possible, save yourself and them the "pain" by handing your client cotton pads and makeup remover or micellar water (which are not oil-based) and ask her to properly remove make-up from her eyes, lashes and eye area. You can do it for her, but trust me, experience clearly tells me that this way the whole process is more comfortable and faster for both of you.
2. The first step can achieve a lot, but small particles and residues of makeup, dirt or grease remain on the eyelids - and especially on and between the lashes. Grab the Lashes PRO Cleansing Foam and get to work. You can already take the help of a round-headed micro-brush here, because its fine bristles really get everywhere, especially around the roots of the lashes, where you need the glue to form a perfect bond with the natural lash later on.
3. Clean and dried eyelashes are ready for primer application.
This cleans the lashes, removes the residues of naturally occurring grease and balances the pH level on their surface, creating perfect conditions for the adhesion of the false eyelash to the natural eyelash with the help of the glue. You don't need to use a lot of primer, but it is important that it gets everywhere it needs to go. And this is why you'll love the micro-brushes with their bendable neck and flat ends. They have a larger application area, so if you take two, dip them in primer and run them around your lashes from underneath and above as if you're creating a sort of lash sandwich, you'll cover the entire lash line with liquid - perfectly, quickly, all along the length and on all sides. These brushes are simply a little treasure!
But the use of microbrushes doesn't stop at pre-treating natural lashes, they are also great for precise application of gel remover when removing old extensions. So as you can see, you'll find yourself reaching for them several times for every single client.
What actually makes microbrushes indispensable helpers?
- "Are they really necessary? I can do the same with cotton buds."
I hope nothing like that has crossed your mind. Yes, you can also soak cotton buds in cleansing foam, primer, or remover and get to the roots of your natural lashes with them thanks to the small cotton head, but there's no way you'll get the same results with them as with brushes.
In fact, the Lashes PRO micro-brushes are armed with hefty microfibers that "tickle" every crease and crevice of your natural lashes. Unlike cotton buds, which just smear and spread the dirt around, micro-brushes trap it in the fibres and reliably remove everything unwanted.
With each client using several brushes, you can probably imagine how quickly they disappear. Luckily, we won't let you down here with Lashes PRO, because you can get them in a bargain two-pack for the price of one. That way, you never have to worry about running out and then clients not wanting to hold volume fans on poorly cleaned and primed lashes.
