It may not seem like it at first glance, but false eyelash shapes and trends are changing just like makeup trends, and 2024 is no exception. However, your clients will find something to love whether they prefer a natural look or lavish volume. In the following article, I'll tell you which lash shapes will be in style, and even give you some advice on what types of false lashes you should try to talk your clients out of.

If any of your clients have been hesitant to try volumizing false eyelashes, this is the perfect time to give them a try. For customers who prefer less extravagance, opt for the 3D or 5D option, for the bold ones, you can "go big" and apply 16D false lashes. And the aforementioned top shapes of 2024? Focus on these:

  •  Oval - This is a universal shape that suits all eye shapes and is perfect for everyday wear. It is also a great starter option for new clients who have no experience with false lashes.
  •     Cat-eye - The ageless, iconic "cat eye" look was popular in ancient Egypt and this year will literally be its year. Do you notice some customers regularly show up with cat-eye shaped liner? Save them the hassle of morning makeup and create their favourite look with volumising lashes.
  •     Rays - Lover of experimentation... will she be among your clients? We've got something for her too, and it's the "wispy" look. Usually worn during special occasions, but something tells us that this customer will make them an everyday affair to further enhance her distinct personality.
Timeless shapes are a safe bet. And there is beauty in simplicity.

Trends at all costs? No, thank you...

There's a big difference between extravagance and tastelessness, and I've already noticed two distinct trends on TikTok that I really don't recommend to your clients. They are:

-  False lashes, which fray almost at the end and create rather unsightly pompoms. By making them heavier at the ends, they can press on your clients' eyes and make them fall out faster, possibly accelerating the falling out of their own lashes.

-  Eyelashes with glitter: while very bold and effective, the glitter can fall off with daily wear. This will result in damaged make-up and an unsightly "messy" look that you will be responsible for.

If one of your clients insists on one of these two trends anyway, at least tell her the risks associated with wearing them and you will have a clear conscience even if you end up having to apply them.

Trends are an interesting refreshment and they spice up the world of beauty, but they are also quite ephemeral, so there is no need to cling to them too much. Above all, remember that you can never go wrong with a look that makes your clients feel their best, regardless of the hottest hits.
