In this article, we will focus on one of the newer techniques that is quickly gaining popularity around the world. We are talking about eyelash styling with eyeliner effect. I'll tell you what types and lengths of false eyelashes to choose, where to put various lash lengths and we'll also look at what types of eyes this style is suitable for.

What is the eyeliner effect and what are its advantages

Imagine the most seductive look that can catch attention in any situation. That's exactly the effect this style of eyelash extensions should have.

The eyeliner effect is very close to the most popular style of false eyelashes, the cat eye styling. However, the eyeliner effect is even more mesmerizing and also saves clients time in their daily makeup routine. Not only will they have perfect eyelashes, but it will even look like they have eyeliner applied that won't smudge or press under their eyebrows under any circumstances. Your clients will thank you!

What is the eyeliner effect lash map like

Eyelashes with eyeliner effect can be done in two ways. It depends on whether the client wants overall volume with a little bit of an accentuated line or if she wants to highlight just the desired eyeliner effect at the expense of the overall volume of the lash fan.

First, let's look at volume lashes with just a hint of eyeliner effect

The lash map will be very similar to the cat eye styling map, but we will add more layers and choose a different type of false eyelashes for the desired effect. For the perfect eyeliner effect, choose lashes with an L-curve!

1. The first line will go through the centre of the eye pupil, the second will go to the outer edge of the eye and the third will be exactly between the first two.

2. Now we will create individual "compartments" for different lengths of eyelashes. Divide the space between the second and third lines in two, and the compartment that is closer to the center of the eye is for the longest lashes, and therefore 12 mm.

3. Divide the remaining half between the second and third lines into two more equally sized compartments. The closer towards the edge of the eye, the shorter the lashes. So, next to the 12mm lashes, there will be 11mm lashes in one compartment, and right at the outer corner of the eye, there will be 10mm lashes.

4. Divide the remaining space, so from the inner corner to the first line, into six equally sized compartments. In each of these, the lashes will be one millimetre shorter than the next. So if you start from the centre of the eye where there are already 12mm lashes, next to that you apply 11mm lashes, then 10mm, then 9mm and continue to the inner corner of the eye itself where the lashes should be 6mm long.

5. Now let's get to the layers. In each compartment, there will be not only one length of eyelashes, but three lengths. So to the 12mm lashes, you'll add 11mm and 10mm, and do this in all the compartments. The only exception is the two compartments at the inner corner of the eye. There, add only a second layer a mm shorter, but there will be no room for a third.

6. But how to layer correctly? Where do the lengths go? Glue the shortest lashes in a given compartment to the lashes that are in the lowest line, and therefore as close to the eye as possible. Stick the middle length lashes on the lashes that are roughly in the middle of the lash line. And the longest false eyelashes go on those eyelashes that are as high up as possible, and therefore as close to the eyelid as possible.

And now, let's look at pronounced eyeliner effect

1. In this procedure, first make only one line that goes across the outer edge of the eye. And it is this point that will separate the different types of eyelashes. In the inner part of the eye, use lashes with a C curve and in the outer part, glue lashes with an L curve. This difference is responsible for creating the desired effect.

2. Divide the slightly larger part, from the outer edge of the eye to the inner corner, into four compartments. But don't make these compartments the same size - the closer to the inner corner you go, the smaller the compartment will be.

3. Follow the same rule for the length of the false eyelashes. The closer to the inner corner you are, the shorter the lashes you apply. In the compartment near the outer edge of the lens, the false eyelashes will be 7 mm long, and in the compartment completely near the inner corner, the eyelashes will be 4 mm long (for clarification - all of these lashes will have a C-curve).

4. Now it's the turn of the outer part from the created line. Here too, we will need four compartments, which are now roughly the same size.

5. Well, if in the previous step we made the eyelashes shorter and shorter, now it will be exactly the opposite. The closer you are to the outer corner, the longer the lashes you apply. Apply 8mm lashes in the compartment near the outer edge of the lens, and 11mm lashes in the compartment just off the outer corner (for clarification, all of these lashes will be L-curved).

6. In the last two compartments, you can add a second layer one millimeter shorter to the longest lashes for a more natural effect. So add 10mm lashes to 11mm lashes and 9mm lashes to 10mm lashes.

7. Apply the second layer in the same way as in the previous method - glue the shorter lashes on top of the lashes that are in the lower line, and therefore as close to the eye as possible. Conversely, apply the longer lashes to the lashes that are as high up as possible, and therefore as close to the eyelid as possible.

Is the eyeliner effect suitable for all eyes?

Even though this is a very similar lash map to the one we showed for cat eye styling, this effect is not suitable for the same eye types as the cat eye styling. Although both false lash styles are very popular with clients, it's not a good idea to mindlessly apply them to everyone. Of course, the customer is king, but at least clients should know that these lashes won't suit them as well as, say, they suit their friend. The eyeliner effect is not suitable for women who have fairly sparse lashes of their own, and also for those who have droopy outer corners. These eyelashes wouldn't really flatter them - they might even make their eye look even smaller and their gaze look almost squinted.
